Central fields of responsibility are school supervision and educational theory including school development, credit management, law, buildings and real estate affairs and also financial assistance for student´s grants.

Apart from that the Department for Agricultural Education is also responsible for the Law for Qualification,the Lower Austrian Wine-law, the Lower Austrian “Landschaftsabgabegesetz” (the law ensures that certain standards regarding the conversation of the environment are kept when extracting sand and chippings etc.) and is the office of the Lower Austrian countryside-fund (Nö Landschaftsfond).
